Bangalore, February 06, 2015: Parikrma Address School Health Awards 2015, had its gala finale on 6th February at Hotel Le Meridian, Bangalore. The event kick started with keynote speaker, Ms Shashi Deshpande, award winning novelist, pointing out how schools can make a difference given the evolving health and safety issues for children. This was followed by a panel discussion moderated by Dilip Thakore, Chief Editor of Education World. The panel consisted of Maya Menon, noted educationist; Reeth Abraham, award-winning athlete; Ram Prasad Attur, Child Psychiatrist ; Dr. Anand Lakshman, CEO of AddressHealth; and Phalitha, a former student at Parikrma Learning Centre. The panel discussion was followed by an enthralling performance by Raghu Dixit, renowned musician.
Registrations for the awards began in December 2014. Parikrma Foundation received nearly 70 applications. The schools were judged by a distinguished jury of child psychologists, educationists, NGO activists and doctors from Indian Academy of Pediatrics Bangalore and Karnataka Association of Community Health. The top five schools in all twelve categories were shortlisted for the overall ‘Healthy School’ award, which was bagged by Delhi Public School Bangalore North.
